Mike Cornett attended Meadowdale Elementary School, and later graduated from Meadowdale High School. One of my fondest childhood memories involves our seventh-grade class play, the 'Mikado,' in which Mike was cast in the lead role. Unfortunately, he was sidelined by an unexpected injury, and as his understudy, I stood in for him. I was no match for his acting abilities, but with his help, managed to get through it. Despite his premature departure from the stage, Mike's star shone brightly, illuminating the lives of those fortunate enough to know him. His absence is deeply felt, and he is dearly missed.
